"Take me out to the ballgame, take me out with the crowd!" There's nothing like Opening Day at a MLB stadium to know summer is just around the corner!! And it doesn't get much better than spending opening day at Dodger Stadium! Take the atmosphere and the fans, mix in a hot dog and soft pretzel and it's a great day at the ballpark! And while I enjoyed the game, the pre and post-game activities were really fun! Getting to meet Tommy Lasorda definitely ranked high on the memorable moments that day, as well as taking pretend batting practice in the Dodger dugout!
While I'm not one for watching baseball games on tv, with the World Series being the exception, I love a great day at the ballpark. Perhaps it's because every year since I was a kid my Granddad would take me to a St. Louis Cardinal's game. Or maybe I enjoy being outside in the sun with fans cheering on a great team. But whatever the reason, a day to the ballpark is always on my "must do" list for summer. There are still a few MLB stadiums I haven't visited and I hope to knock a few more off this next summer! And if you ever have the opportunity to actually walk the field at any ballpark, I highly recommend it. It will be a day worth remembering! So here's to looking forward to the spring and America's favorite pastime.
